Easy shoulder wrap look
Here's the first look. This scarf is the same shape as the next 3 looks.

1. Wear a silk scarf as a shoulder wrap.

If you're looking for something glam and/or you want a warming layer for breezy summer evenings, try wearing a rectangular scarf around your shoulders. This look calls for a long scarf. Just tie one loose knot on one end and loop the other end through the knot. Drape the scarf around your shoulders and adjust the length and width to a comfortable position.
Once you have the look you want, tighten the knot to secure the look. Note: Although this scarf is lavender colored, it's still the same rectangular shape as the next 3 looks.

2. The Classic Knotted Scarf Look

Some of us wonder how to wear an oblong scarf. Try this look. It's the most basic way to style a scarf and also the most versatile. It was shown on the Acne Studios runways worn this way. It's an easy look that gives just a little more interest. It's a great way to add a pop of color to any outfit. Or try tying with a french knot. Warm your neck, jazz up your T shirt with this look.

3. The Ascot

The Ascot is a great way to keep your neck warm on a cold winter night. Simply fold the scarf in half lengthwise and tie the scarf evenly around your neck and wrap the ends around each other. This will create a cozy and warm scarf that will keep you warm all night long. You could even call this a scarf necklace. If you want a variation, try tying with a half knot instead, or try a simple neck loop, European style.
A silk scarf worn as a headband, such a cute look.
Try this look for a touch of boho.

4. The Headband

This is a fun and glamorous way to style a scarf. Grab the scarf at the 1/2 way point. Put that point on the top of your forehead. Position your bangs or hair as you like. Simply tie it around your head like a headband, tying a double knot to secure it. Don't forget to tuck the knot underneath your hair. Try this look with a large square scarf folded on the diagonal, tucking the loose ends into the knot under your neck.

Or you can wrap it around your bun for a more elegant look. This is a great way to keep your hair out of your face on a windy or humid day. Or even try a bow tie scarf wrap or a waist wrap, like a belt. So now you've learned different ways to use a scarf. Looking for more ideas?
